The downtown window museum was originated by one of the festival
founders, Judge Wayne Badger, in 1953 as part of the State of Ohio's
sesquicentennial celebration. The Antique Festival was started in 1963
and assumed the window museum as part of it's days events.
Businesses along West Jackson Street in Millersburg have donated the
use of their display window space for a one or two week period. Some
merchants decorated their own window and others permitted collectors to
exhibit their antiques. You can see locals and tourists gazing into the
windows the week prior and the week following the festival.
Cash prizes are awarded to the first and second place winners in
three categories: Millersburg Glass, Collections (Antique Only), and the
current festival theme. Take time this year to view the windows and step
back in time to when things were simpler. |
